20+ Inspiring 3D Animated Video Examples and Use Cases for Businesses

I’ve lost count of how many times clients have told me when I offer them 3D animation style for their explainer video project, “3D animation looks amazing, but it’s probably too fancy and expensive for us.”

I get it.

Not too long ago, getting a 3D animated promotional video that looked anywhere near Pixar-level felt like a pipe dream unless you had a Hollywood budget to burn.

But times have changed.

Thanks to better tools and a growing pool of insanely talented animators, 3D animation is more accessible than ever.

We don’t really need deep pockets to create something that turns heads.

Look at Flow, a small indie film that beat Disney at the Oscars for Best Animated Feature, created using Blender, a free software, and not even a dialogue was recorded.

The same shift is happening in marketing, where brands of all sizes can now use high-quality 3D animation to tell their stories, grab attention, and make a lasting impact without spending millions.

And it’s working! Our animated marketing report revealed that over 40% of marketers considered animation an effective tool for engagement. Meanwhile, 65% agreed that animation has helped drive positive KPI results.

I rounded up some of the most creative 3D animated videos out there– ones that prove you don’t need Hollywood dollars to make something unforgettable for your brand.

1. Oppo

OPPO Life Studio | Ollie Elemental Collection

You know a brand is serious about storytelling when they bring their mascot to life in 3D. Oppo’s Olly is a whole elemental universe wrapped in slick animation.

They make the most out of 3D animation to give them personality. The lighting, textures, and fluid motion make each Olly feel like it has its own little soul.

And we have to talk about the environmental design. Every detail reinforces the meaning behind each figure to make it more than just a product showcase. If I didn’t already know this was from Oppo, I’d think it was a teaser for a new animated series.

2. ASICS Running

ASICS Running | GEL-NIMBUS™ 26 | Add comfort to every step

How can you visualize the lightness and comfort of your product? ASICS achieved this by using floating 3D visuals, soft colors, and smooth textures to convey those feelings to their audiences through virtual screens.

With soft, subtle music and transitions, this video adds a sense of premium quality in line with their branding. The overall messages emphasize that the shoes appear both high-performance and ultra-comfortable.

If I were creating something similar, I’d keep the background clean and minimalist to let the product take center stage. It’s a simple but powerful way to make a product visually striking and unforgettable.

3. Samsung Friends

Samsung Friends: The City of Creative Monsters

It’s always inspiring and refreshing to see big brands keep pushing creative boundaries, and Samsung’s latest campaign does just that. They’ve been using live-action video for quite some time, but recently, this giant tech opted for playful 3D animation to highlight one of its product propositions.

The video starts with a nostalgic aesthetic and retro-style font to grab attention. It follows a storyline that guides viewers on personalizing their Samsung devices while upbeat music and subtle sound effects enhance the vibrant visuals.

This style of 3D animation is especially appealing to younger audiences. For tech companies looking to break away from a serious corporate image, this approach makes brands feel more fun, relatable, and appealing to their target customers.

4. Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! | 3D Short Animation Video

At Breadnbeyond, my team and I always look for creative ways to connect with audiences beyond the usual marketing content. So, we decided to bring a little magic to the screen for Halloween with a fun 3D animated short.

Inspired by the stop-motion magic of Tim Burton films and classic claymation, we crafted a short animated piece that feels like it stepped right out of a spooky bedtime story.

The handcrafted textures, the moody lighting, and the hauntingly expressive characters were all designed to create an atmosphere that draws viewers in.

For companies, a well-crafted 3D short like this can introduce mascots, launch products, or tell brand stories. Its versatility allows repurposing across online platforms and marketing channels, and it’s endlessly adaptable for social media posts, emails, and events.

5. Atomic AMID

Atomic AMID | ski helmet technology

I love it when brands mix things up with animation, and Atomic’s approach is a great example. They took a hybrid route, blending live-action with 3D animation. But let’s talk about why the 3D part is such a game-changer here.

The 3D video clip uses a technical and informative approach by illustrating a more advanced or responsive shock absorption system. This information will be difficult to visualize with words alone.

So, animation and illustration come to the rescue to convey the message. This style is effective for product demonstrations, especially for sports gear, medical devices, or tech innovations. It visually breaks down complex features clearly.

6. Maserati Car

Maserati Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Surround View Camera - 360° top view

A lot of our clients in the automotive industry use 3D animation to break down complex tech, and Maserati absolutely nails it with this one.

Their 360° Surround View Camera system is packed with advanced sensor tech, but this animation makes it feel effortless to understand.

This immersive 3D animation style is commonly used in automotive marketing to educate potential buyers on advanced safety features. This video can also serve as a brief tutorial whenever customers need help.

7. Good Time

Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time (3D Video)

The use of animation in music videos isn’t new. Gorillaz, for instance, built an entire brand around animated personas. For independent musicians or those looking for a unique artistic direction, 3D animation can be a fresh and cost-effective alternative to live-action videos.

But why do musicians and creators choose 3D over live-action? The main reason for this can be the flexibility and creativity that animation offers.

I’m using our Good Time 3D music video project as an example. For the characters and background, we created materials that resemble smooth plastic or clay, almost like handcrafted objects.

Subtle textures also make the environment feel like a miniature world, almost like a stop-motion set. The main goal is to create a dreamlike world that fits the song’s carefree beat, making everything feel fun, light, and full of movement.

8. Epson WorkForce

Epson WorkForce Pro EM-C800 Product Video

Epson is one of the biggest global printing device manufacturers, with many machines that meet different customer needs. Explaining each one with words would take forever, so they used 3D video instead.

This sleek video is one of the best on their YouTube channel. You can see how each compartment smoothly opens, glides, or moves seamlessly. With a white-dominated background, this video emphasizes product demonstration.

This is exactly why I recommend 3D animation for complex tech. It’s so much more than making products look cool (although it’s really important) but at the same time, we should focus on making intricate features feel intuitive and easy to grasp.

9. Hankook Tire

[Hankook Tire] Design Innovation 2016_3D Animation

Hankook Tire presents a vision of the future through a 3D animated video that goes the extra mile for marketing purposes.

The action-packed, futuristic atmosphere of the visuals seamlessly combines sci-fi aesthetics with innovative engineering. It’s fun and creative, immersing viewers in a futuristic world where advanced tire technology adapts to human movement.

Businesses in the automotive and transportation industries can use this approach to diversify their marketing content. Instead of overwhelming audiences with sales-driven videos, they can use 3D animation to explore bold ideas and position themselves as pioneers in future mobility.

10. Bankwest

Bankwest Homes and Hearts TVC

Now, this is how you make finance feel human. Bankwest ditches the usual “trust us with your money” approach and instead tells a heartfelt story using 3D animation, a poetic script, and a warm voiceover to bring it all together.

What I love is how they keep you guessing. The core message doesn’t hit until the very end, but by that point, you’re already invested (pun intended). It’s a bold move, and it works.

For financial brands, this is a masterclass in making content that feels more like a story and less like a sales pitch. Anyway, when was the last time a bank ad actually made you feel something?

11. Restonic Smart Base

Explainer Video for Restonic Smart Base | 3D Animation

I had a blast creating this 3D animation for Restonic Smart Base. More and more brands are realizing that 3D video is insanely effective for product demos and tutorials. And with this one, we wanted to make assembly super clear, breaking it down step by step.

Unlike live-action videos, 3D lets us zoom in, slice through layers, and highlight key features with precision. Even without prior product knowledge, it’s easy to follow.

Another great thing about 3D video is its ability to eliminate distractions and focus entirely on the product. They can create multiple language versions or highlight specific features without costly reshoots.

12. JBL

JBL Land Gameplay Trailer | Roblox

This video is a smart blend of technical execution and strategic branding. At first glance, the blocky, low-poly aesthetic might seem simple, but pulling off a polished, game-inspired look while keeping animation smooth and engaging is no small feat.

Another cool thing here is how JBL embraces the Roblox style instead of forcing hyper-realism. The animation seamlessly integrates with the game’s environment, so it feels native to the platform rather than just a branded add-on.

13. PBS Kids

3D Animation for PBS Kids

Businesses targeting younger audiences need content that captures attention instantly while maintaining an engaging, age-appropriate experience. 3D animation excels in this area as it combines visual appeal with storytelling flexibility.

3D animation allows for exaggerated expressions, fluid movements, and vibrant worlds that feel more immersive. This makes it perfect for industries like toy manufacturing, ed-tech, children’s entertainment, and kid-friendly food brands.

Another example from our own project is a teaser opening video we created for PBS Kids. We designed soft, rounded characters (like dinosaurs, planets, and letters) with toy-like textures and expressive faces to make them feel friendly and approachable.

The lush, stylized environment with a bubbling volcano, fluffy clouds, and even outer space adds a sense of adventure and curiosity while maintaining a calm, safe atmosphere.

The goal was to spark children’s imaginations while reinforcing a playful, educational tone that aligns with PBS KIDS’ mission. With these stop-motion-inspired textures and smooth, exaggerated movements, we wanted to create a tactile and magical world that can keep young viewers engaged and excited to learn.

14. Panduit

Panduit Wire Caps

Panduit’s 3D animation does a solid job of making something as technical as wire caps feel effortless to understand. They didn’t dump a bunch of specs on us, and it just shows how the product works with clean visuals, smooth motion, and clear labels that make its multi-directional usability super obvious.

But here’s the real win: this isn’t just a floating product on a white background. The animation puts it in real-world scenarios, so anyone in networking, electrical installations, or industrial wiring can instantly see why this matters.

15. Planet Finance

Customer Onboarding Video for Planet Finance | 3D Motion Animation

Cryptocurrency is one of the most challenging topics to explain to general audiences. So, when we create this 3D, our goal is to make every visual and animation enhance audience understanding. We translate abstract crypto concepts into intuitive, easy-to-follow narratives that resonate with users through visuals.

This customer onboarding 3D video exemplifies how crypto companies can leverage three-dimensional characters and motion to educate users. Moving visuals and animated UI walkthroughs guide users step by step on where to click and how to navigate the platform.

This concept is valuable for crypto companies and widely applicable across various industries that deal with detailed products or services. For example, 3D onboarding videos are ideal for the fintech, health-tech, and SaaS industries.

16. Crypto Games

3D Animation Video of Crypto Games | Breadnbeyond Internal Competition

This is one of the most-voted 3D videos from our internal competition. It won many hearts mostly because of its full-of-personality style and different approach to a jargon-heavy topic.

While most crypto game promos lean into sleek, futuristic aesthetics, this one takes a completely different route; warm, textured, and full of personality. The handcrafted feel makes the complex world of blockchain gaming feel approachable and fun.

Beyond education, 3D videos also serve as powerful marketing tools. They create excitement and set the tone for the game’s aesthetic. High-quality 3D animations effectively communicate the value of crypto games to attract players and stakeholders to the growing industry.

17. Zeux

Blockchain Explainer Video for Zeux | 3D Motion Graphic

Another example from Breanbeyond. We blended 3D and 2D animation to get the best of both worlds. The 3D floating UI elements give depth and movement and make digital transactions feel tangible.

Meanwhile, the 2D line graphics keep things clear and digestible. It’s a mix of sophistication and simplicity to mirror how Zeux itself bridges traditional finance with blockchain innovation.

Every motion choice had a purpose here. The smooth transitions were meant to reflect the ease of decentralized transactions. The clean, structured visuals were designed to keep things from feeling too overwhelming.

18. MANTA

MANTA Vascular Closure Device Overview

Imagine a vascular closure device provider like MANTA trying to explain how their product works using only text or static images. It’s not going to happen.

Using 3D animation, MANTA brings every tiny detail to life: how the device is inserted, how it functions inside the body, and how it ensures proper closure. It’s a level of clarity you just can’t achieve any other way.

One thing I really appreciate in this video is how it mimics a real-world procedure. The animation is a precise, step-by-step visual breakdown that healthcare professionals can actually learn from.

This isn’t something you can whip up with a generic template. Medical animations like this need accuracy and finesse. Every motion, every color choice, every labeled part. It’s all intentional.

19. A Paramedic Simulator

Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator | Launch Trailer

Now, this is how you do a game trailer. The Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator launch video throws you right into the action. From the moment it starts, you feel the urgency, the weight of every decision, and the chaos of real emergency response work.

What really stands out here is the first-person perspective. You’re not just watching a paramedic, but you are the paramedic.

20. VoltaChem

VoltaChem Power-2-Chemicals

For me, this is an excellent example of how 3D animation bridges the gap between cutting-edge science and audience understanding.

The elements shift and transform dynamically to make abstract chemical processes feel more tangible. I know firsthand how tricky it can be to balance clarity and engagement in industrial animations, and this video nails it.

The video also visualizes the molecular interactions and energy transfers in motion. It’s the kind of thing you just can’t achieve with a classic 2D animation.

21. Boyd

eMobility Solutions | EV Thermal Runaway Protection |EV HMI and Battery Cooling Technology | Boyd

From a storytelling perspective, this is a great example of how 3D animation can bring hidden technology to life. The 3D animation was used to visually deconstruct the battery, layer by layer, to show how heat moves and how their cooling technology responds in real time.

I might actually take some notes from this one. The clean design, fluid transitions, and balance of realism and clarity are things I’d love to incorporate into my own projects.

The way the animation cuts through the vehicle, zooms into the battery pack, and highlights the cooling mechanisms at work makes it easy for viewers to grasp what’s happening on a micro level.

The simulation of heat dissipation is also well-executed. Dynamic color shifts and motion effects represent temperature changes in a way that feels both realistic and visually striking.

22. Deloitte UK

Welcome to Mindscape

This game-like 3D environment, Mindscape by Deloitte UK, creates a sense of discovery. Every visual detail, from lighting to movement, adds to the storytelling. I felt like I was stepping into someone’s mind.

This makes me think about how 3D animation can push storytelling further in other industries. Imagine this concept applied to esports tournaments, extreme sports, or even corporate training experiences, where users aren’t just passive viewers but active participants in the story.

23. Thermo Fisher Scientific

A Cell Therapy Journey from Vein to Vein

I find this project by Thermo Fisher Scientific to be a brilliant example of how 3D animation can transcend traditional educational methods and become a powerful storytelling tool in science and healthcare.

The “Cell Therapy Journey from Vein to Vein” video demonstrates the unique ability of 3D animation to visualize the invisible, transforming abstract and microscopic biological processes into engaging, digestible, and visually stunning narratives.

From a technical perspective, creating such animations requires a deep understanding of both the scientific subject matter and the art of visual storytelling. Animators must collaborate closely with scientists to ensure accuracy while employing creative techniques to make the content accessible and engaging.

This balance between precision and creativity is what makes projects like this so challenging yet rewarding.

24. Expleo Group

#ExpleoSmeeta Briefcase: the cyber-resilience testing platform for the mobility sector (EN)

This isn’t a Pixar short or a big-budget sci-fi flick, but it sure knows how to make cybersecurity feel cinematic.

The video visually demonstrates how the ExpleoSmeeta Briefcase detects and analyzes car key signals and complex cybersecurity concepts to be easier to grasp. Abstract processes come to life through characters, environments, and storytelling to present real-world applications.

I love how camera angles and lighting direct your attention so smoothly. Plus, the mix of realistic environments with stylized characters keeps things engaging without feeling too corporate. It’s polished but not pretentious.

25. Microsoft Design

Microsoft Designer launch video

Microsoft Designer’s launch video takes what could have been a basic feature showcase and turns it into a visual experience that actually makes you want to start designing.

The launch video uses 3D animation to bring the interface to life with dynamic layouts, screencast, and smooth transitions. Everything moves with a sense of flow, from the dynamic layouts to the AI-powered tweaks that feel almost magical. The pastel color palette adds this friendly touch. It’s UI design, but make it cozy.

The animation takes us on a hands-on, creative journey. We can literally watch an idea go from a blank canvas to a polished, shareable design.

Takeaway: What These Inspiring 3D Animated Video Examples Teach Us?

  • Story Steals the Show. Cool visuals are nice, but if your 3D promo has all the dazzle and none of the depth, it’s just digital eye candy. Hook ‘em with a story, keep ‘em with emotion, and leave ‘em wanting more.
  • Stylized > Super Realistic. Yes, hyperrealism is impressive, but have you met style? Bold colors, quirky character designs, and creative world-building often make a bigger impact. You don’t need to mimic reality when you can create your own style.
  • Smooth Moves Sell. The best 3D promos flow like butter; timing, pacing, and transitions should be as smooth as a Pixar dance sequence. Good motion = good attention.
  • Big Ideas > Big Budgets. You don’t need Hollywood pockets to make jaw-dropping 3D animation. Smart design choices, stylized art, and clever animation techniques can stretch a budget without sacrificing impact.
  • Don’t Show, Make Them Feel. The best 3D promos go beyond so much more than showcasing a product, they create an experience. Laughter, nostalgia, or that gotta-have-it excitement, emotions drive actions and engagements.
